ChromeOS, which is the operating system that the Chromebook runs on is very stable, so it’s unlikely you’ll ever have to reset your Chromebook back to factory settings due to an error.
That being said, there may be many different reasons you’d like to Powerwash your Chromebook, which is essentially a factory reset.
This could be simply down to you wanting to start again from scratch or you’ve changed settings and unsure how to get your Chromebook back to how it used to be.
Another reason to Factory reset your Chromebook is if you decide to sell your Chromebook in the future. You’d want to make sure a powerwash is performed, so you remove all your data and Google account.
