Asus CX5 Chromebook Review

The Asus CX5 Chromebook is one of the last laptops I bought. I still use this Chromebook today when I’m making my YouTube videos.

It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which means it’s ideal for people who want to use advanced Android and Linux Apps.

A few years ago 256GB of storage would have been considered too much for ChromeOS. However, having this amount of storage space allows you to allocate a lot of storage to your Linux container.

The display is fantastic and is one of the biggest laptop computers I’ve ever owned. This does mean it isn’t the type of laptop you would want to carry around with you, but it’s a great laptop to use at home.

The sound quality is fantastic and the display, which is IPS offers excellent visuals. There were a few issues with the sound when this Chromebook was originally released, but this has been dealt with following updates.

I can’t remember exactly, but the Asus CX5 was receiving its last OS update in 2027, but thanks to changes made by Google. The Asus CX5 will now receive OS updates until 2031.
