Intel i5 Chromebook with mouse and bag for under £500

Chromebooks are known to work well even if you’re using a lower-end processor. This is thanks to the incredibly lightweight Chrome OS. What that means is when you use a Chromebook with an Intel i5 processor. Well, you’re in for a treat because you’re going to be amazed by the performance an Intel i5 processor offers when running Chrome OS. The downside is these higher-spec Chromebooks tend to cost a lot more money. At the moment though, you can get your hands on an Intel i5 Chromebook for less than £500. Not only that it also comes with a Bluetooth mouse and bag in with the price. Now that is what I call an absolute bargain.

I’m not sure how long this deal is going to last, so if you’re interested you’d better act fast. These type of deals don’t normally hang around for long. Even when they do you could end up running the risk of the retailer running out of stock when offering such great deals. At the moment you can also get free next day delivery, so you’ll not have to wait too long to get your hands on the Chromebook. The Chromebook in question is made by Lenovo. A manufacturer we’ve heard a lot about in the last year when it comes to Chromebooks.

Lenovo is relatively new when it comes to Chromebooks. This is rather surprising, at times, when you consider how successful they’ve been with providing us with some excellent Chrome OS computers. In fact, Lenovo saw the biggest increase in Chromebook sales out of any other manufacturer in 2020. I’m happy to see this because they were the manufacturer who took the initiative to offer us the amazing Lenovo Chromebook Ideapad Duet. The first Chrome OS tablet worth buying since the Pixel Slate. They’ve also offered us some great budget Chromebooks. So we can definitely thank them for bringing something new to the table.

I like the look of the Lenovo Flex 5i. Its graphite grey finish may not appeal to all, but I think it looks pretty sophisticated. The outer casing is made of aluminium giving it that look of a premium laptop. It’s a 2-in-1 Chromebook, which means you can use it as a laptop or tablet. It’s not super thin, so may look a little bulky in tablet mode.

The Intel i5 tenth generation processor means this Chromebook will be receiving Chrome OS updates for at least eight years. It also means it’s super-fast, so you’ll not come across any performance issues with the Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook. It has a base clock speed of 1.60 GHz and an incredibly fast turbo speed of 4.20 GHz. Not only that, it comes with a 6MB cache, so more vital data can be stored in the cache to help speed up regular processes. There is no doubt about it. This Chromebook will be fast.

A processor can only perform well if it comes with enough RAM. Luckily, the Lenovo Flex 5i comes with 8GB of RAM. This is the perfect amount of RAM for this processor. It means you’ll never come across any lag when using this Chromebook. It will of course be absolutely fine with internet surfing, streaming HD movies and social media. Where the processing power will be noticed is when you start to use intensive Android and Linux Apps. However, Linux apps are still in Beta mode, so they can’t really take full advantage of all that processing power just yet.

The storage available at 128 GB is also great to see. This amount of storage will allow you to install plenty of Android apps, which will allow you to take full advantage of the processing power. This is where you’ll notice the difference. Android Apps work on most Chromebooks, but with this amount of processing power and RAM. You’ll notice Android Apps will work at a much greater speed than what you’d see from a Budget Chromebook.

You’ll not be disappointed with the display. It offers a Full HD of 1,920 by 1,080 and is nice and bright with a NITS rating of 300. Chrome Unboxed went as far as to say the display is not far off the quality you get from the Google Pixelbook Go. A pretty impressive statement when you consider the Pixelbook Go display is excellent.

A great thing to see from the Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook is that it comes with WiFi 6. Sure, not everyone will have a router that supports WiFi 6. However, when you do get an upgrade you’ll notice WiFi 6 is much better at keeping a solid connection in a home with a lot of devices using WiFi. This is more important than ever now that you have the ability to play games on a Chromebook. Playing games on a Chromebook needs a good internet connection, so WiFi 6 will help with that.

This current deal also comes with a Lenovo mouse and bag. It’s good to see this because I’ve never really seen Chromebooks in the UK come with added extras. It’s a nice touch and is perfect for people who are buying a Chromebook to use on the move. It’s a perfect choice for students who are watching their money and not wanting to spend extra on a separate mouse and bag.

Personally speaking, I think this is one of the best deals I’ve seen lately. An Intel i5 Chromebook that comes with a free mouse and bag for under £500. On top of that, it comes with 8GB of RAM and enough storage for all needs. This Chromebook is without question future proof, and I can’t really see anything that I’d fault for the price.

It’s a huge discount on the original price this Chromebook is sold at. If you’re looking for a new Chromebook or an upgrade from a budget Chromebook. I can’t really see any reason why you would not jump at the deal on offer. That is of course if you’re currently on the lookout for a new Chromebook or upgrade.
