How to check amount of RAM installed on your Chromebook

When it comes to buying a Chromebook or any type of computer. You’ll most likely always check the specifications are suitable for your needs. If you’re looking to buy a new Chromebook you can do this easily by checking the information provided by the retailer before making a purchase.

If you already own a computer though you can easily forget the original specs. This would also be the case if you bought a laptop on the second-hand market. When it comes to finding the amount of RAM your Chromebook has installed. You may be surprised because it’s a lot harder than you may have hoped.

The Chromebook is a really easy computer to use. So you’ll be used to being able to do things without too much of an issue. I’m unsure why this does not continue when it comes to finding out how much RAM is installed. If you’ve ever tried you’ll already know it’s not as easy to find as you may think.

One argument is that Google do not want you to worry about the specs too much. This is because the Chromebook works well even with low specs. It’s to get you away from having to worry about the specs, and just enjoying what the Chromebook offers.

I do get this argument to an extent. However, there will be times when you will want to know how much RAM your Chrome OS device holds.

Although you can find this information out by using flags. It’s not as easy and seamless as you may hope. So the best thing to do for now is to use an Android App. The best app for the job is ‘Cog System Info Viewer’.

This video explains how you can install this Android app, which allow you to find out how much RAM your Chromebook has installed.
