Get your hands on the Acer 713 Chromebook for just £499.99

One of the best Chromebooks you can own right now is the Acer 713 Chromebook. I put this as the second-best Chromebook to buy in 2020. It was only beaten by the amazing design offered by the Google Pixelbook Go. However, when it comes to specs the Acer 713 offers a lot more. I’ve recently bought one of these Chromebooks, and I’ve been very happy with it. At the moment you can buy this Chromebook for just £499.99, which is amazing for what you get.

I’m not complaining that a Chromebook with these specs is relatively cheap for what it offers. At the normal retail price of £599.99/$599.99, you’re still getting a lot for your money. When you consider other Chromebooks around this price all come with Full HD. I think Acer could have easily priced this laptop higher considering you’re getting a resolution of 2,256 by 1,504. So even at the normal price, I think we’re getting a really good deal from Acer.

I recently wrote an article about why I don’t think you need a laptop offering more than Full HD. I think this is definitely true for any laptop as anything more is overkill. That being said, Acer has managed to offer this higher resolution without it being impractical to use. What I mean is, even at the highest resolution, you can easily read the text on the display. Something I’ve found rather difficult on my Pixel Slate with its whopping resolution of 3,000 by 2,000.

ACER 713 CHROMEBOOK

If you’re looking for a high spec Chromebook without spending a fortune. Then I’d definitely take a look at the deal on offer. At just under £500 it’s very unlikely this offer will last for long. It’s the same price I managed to get mine for around Easter. The great news is you can buy the entry-level model, which is the model available in this deal without being concerned about whether it can perform.

It’s an Intel i3 tenth-generation processor, which comes with a base speed of 2.1 GHz and a turbo speed of 4.10 GHz. If you’re thinking you’d prefer the i5 or i7 version. Then by all means take a look at how much those models cost. Before you do though, you may be interested to know the Intel i3 tenth-generation processor is faster than the eight-generation Intel i7 processor. So don’t for one second think this Intel i3 laptop cannot perform. It’s amazingly fast.

It comes with 8 GB of RAM, which is more than enough for doing anything on Chrome OS. Whether that is internet surfing, Android Apps or Linux Apps. The Acer 713 Chromebook can deal with all of these tasks with ease. The storage at 128 GB is huge, and it makes this the perfect laptop for anyone who wants to install a lot of Android Apps.

THE DISPLAY

The display you get with the Acer 713 is what makes it stand out from the crowd. The resolution of 2,256 by 1,504 on a compact 13.5-inch display looks fantastic. I also love the 3:2 aspect ratio, which means you’ll get a lot more information on the screen when surfing the web. Instead of having a large white space on either side of the text as you get with 16:9. The taller display means you can view more, which is great and takes full advantage of the extra resolution offered.

If you’re interested it’s currently available at Argos in the UK for just £499.99. That’s a massive £100 off the normal retail price. If you live in the UK I’m sure you don’t need any introduction to Argos. They’ve been on the UK high street for years. They also offer home delivery, so you could have your hands on this Chromebook by tomorrow.
