If you’re considering buying a new Chromebook you may have your eyes on the Asus C434 or C433 Chromebook. This makes sense because Asus makes some seriously stunning looking laptops. It isn’t all about the looks though, as the performance and overall build quality are just as important. When it comes to Asus it can be difficult to choose because they released a few very similar Chromebooks close together.

The Asus C434 and the C433 are very similar. In fact, there isn’t much difference between these laptops. This is why I think a comparison between these two Chromebooks is a must-read. Essentially, the C434 should offer more than the C433 because it’s a pricier model. Is that the case though? Well, let’s take a closer look.

Asus C434 vs C433 on Build Quality

This is where it gets a little tricky to choose. Both devices are very similar when it comes to weight with the C434 at 1.45kg/3.19lbs and the C433 at 1.5kg/3.31lbs. The C433 is slightly heavier, but not enough for it to be even noticeable. The C433 is slightly thicker at 16.5mm compared to 15.7mm. The overall diameter of both machines is almost identical.

Both Chromebooks are Hybrid, which means you can use them as either a laptop or a tablet. This also means both come with a touchscreen, which is important if you want to make the most of Android Apps. Find out more about whether a touchscreen is important when using Chrome OS.

The only real difference in terms of build quality is the chassis. Both come with an outer aluminium casing, but the C433 is plastic inside. Although it’s plastic inside Asus has done a really good job in how it looks. Personally speaking, I prefer the look of the Asus C433. It has a more slab-like look, which also means it will look much better in tablet mode. If you’re put off by the plastic inside, then the C434 is possibly a better option for you.

Asus C434 vs C433 on performance

An important choice to make when choosing a new laptop is the performance. After all, there is no point buying a new computer if it will not be up to the job you’ve bought it for. Luckily, Chrome OS is an incredibly lightweight operating system, so it performs well even with low specs. Both the C434 and C433 are medium-spec devices, so the performance on offer from both is excellent. You’ll be able to carry out all Chrome OS tasks with either of these laptops.

When it comes to comparing both of these Chromebooks on performance. It’s a pretty easy thing to do because they both offer exactly the same. The only real difference is the C434 comes in three configurations and the C433 is available in two different configurations. The Intel i3 and i5 models available from both use exactly the same processor. Therefore, the performance will be exactly the same. This is because the RAM is also exactly the same on these laptops.

Storage is a little different. The C434 is available with storage options of 32, 64 and 128 GB and the C433 is available in 64 or 128 GB. So if you opt for the C434 with the least storage, it will not offer you the same amount as you would get with the basic C433. This is something to consider when searching the web to buy either one of these Chromebooks. Also, the C434 offers an i7 processor if you’re after the best performance, which is not available for the C433 model.

Display Comparison

The display quality of any laptop is really important. You’ll be staring at the display a lot through the lifetime of owning it, so getting a decent display is paramount. As I’ve already mentioned both of these laptops are medium-spec. This means the display on both offer excellent results. In fact, again, there is very little difference between them.

The only slight difference is the Asus C434 offers a slightly brighter panel, but only slightly. Therefore, I don’t think there is a huge difference between these two laptops when looking at the display alone.

Both the C434 and C433 come with an excellent display

Both come with a 14-inch display and offer a Full HD resolution of 1,920 by 1,080. They also come with an IPS panel, which is really important because it provides better viewing angles. An IPS panel also offers more vibrant looking colours, so everything on the display looks nice.

Connectivity Comparison

Connectivity is something that can be often overlooked when buying a new laptop. We tend to look at the build quality, performance and display to make our choice. However, making sure you have the right connectivity is also important. Again, when it comes to connectivity both the Asus C434 and C433 offer the same. There is no winner when it comes to connectivity.

You’ll find two USB type C ports, which is the new standard. It not only allows you to connect external devices. A USB Type C port can also be used to charge your laptop and connect an external monitor. If you have older peripherals, which don’t support USB Type C. Then you don’t need to be concerned because both Chromebooks also offer a USB Type A port. This means you’ll be able to use older peripherals and newer peripherals on these laptops without the need for an adaptor.

A Micro SD slot to add further storage at a later date is also offered by both, and a headphone/microphone jack is available on both devices. You get roughly the same battery juice at around 10 hours, but in real terms more like 8 hours. WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4 is provided on both. Therefore, there is absolutely no difference between these two laptops when it comes to connectivity.

Summary – Asus C434 vs C433 Chromebook Comparison

I think this comparison shows Asus has released two Chromebooks that are very similar. Not only in the way they look but also when it comes to the internal specs. There is hardly any difference between these two laptops other than the price. If having an all-over aluminium chassis, which includes the inside of the laptop is important to you. Then you may want to choose the Asus C434.

The only other difference is the display on the Asus C434 is slightly brighter. When it comes to the AUE Date both devices will receive updates of Chrome OS until June 2026. Find out more about the Chromebook AUE Date.

Personally speaking. I don’t think the Asus C434 offers much more than the C433. Also, the C433 looks much nicer with the slab look compared to the more curved edges you get on the C434. This is personal preference, but the slab look also makes it look much better in tablet mode.

The one you decide to choose will come down to the price. If price is important to you, then you’ll usually find much better deals for the C433 than the C434 Chromebook. You can see the prices currently available for both of these Chromebooks below. Take a look at more Chromebooks and the specs they offer.
