Android apps have come a long way compared to where they were ten years ago. I love sketching and used to use a pen and piece of paper when I was at school. You no longer need to have these oldskool tools because you can sketch on a Chromebook.
To do so you will need a Chromebook with a touchscreen display and stylus support. I would definitely recommend choosing a Chromebook with a stylus if you love to draw and sketch. I’m not great at drawing but it still brings me hours of fun.
To make the most out of sketching on your Chromebook you need a good app. I’ve found a great Android App to use with your Chromebook and best of all it’s free to use. I used to use Sketch by Sony, but this has been discontinued. I was upset about this at first, but if it wasn’t. I would not have found Sketchbook.
Sketchbook is the best Android App for sketching on your Chromebook
If you’ve been looking for the best Android sketching app. Then you can stop searching. I’ve been using Sketchbook for a few weeks now and I’m really impressed with the options it provides. If you wish to install it on your Chromebook. Then you can find Sketchbook in the Play Store.
The Sketchbook toolbars
From the main screen, you’ll find three toolbars. On the left-hand side, you’ll find the toolbar, which gives you access to all the different brushes available. There are a huge number of brushes available, so I’m sure you’ll find what you need.
The toolbar on the right-hand side is where you can manage and add further layers. You also choose the colours you want to use from this toolbar.
The toolbar at the top of the app has many different functions. These include creating and saving your sketches, fill, text, and many other options.
The Brush Toolbar
The brush toolbar on the left-hand side is where you can choose from many different brushes. The good thing is you can change many of the properties depending on the type of brush you choose.
You’ll also find two sliders on the right of this toolbar. The top slider allows you to change the size of the brush. You’ll not only be presented with the size in pixels. You also get a review of the size of the brush. I love this and it’s much better than how you choose the brush size with other Android apps I’ve used.
A great feature available with most brushes is the ability to change the size of the brush depending on how much pressure you apply. Most of the brushes have a set default, which works just fine. However, you can change the pixel size manually as well.
