Lenovo Ideapad Chromebook Duet 2-in-1 availability

I’ve been really excited about the launch of the latest Chromebook from Lenovo. Well, technically it’s a Chrome OS tablet that comes with a detachable keyboard. However, once the keyboard is attached it’s a fully-fledged Chromebook laptop.

UPDATE: You’ll be happy to know the Lenovo Ideapad Chromebook Duet is now available from the Lenovo website in the UK. Hopefully, this will also mean other retailers should soon stock the long-awaited Chrome OS tablet by Lenovo.

The reason why I’m so excited is that I have a strong feeling that this tablet will be the one to make Chrome OS a success for tablets. You can find out more by reading will the Lenovo Ideapad 2-in-1 Chromebook make Chrome OS tablets a success?

So this brings in the question of the availability for the Ideapad Chromebook Duet. I desperately want to get my hands on one, so I can review it. I’m also certain a lot of readers are on the hunt for this device.

One issue we do have is that we are currently dealing with the Corona Virus. This is without question going to cause delays on getting products to market. Also, the second issue is where you live in the world.

The Chromebook has a much bigger market in the USA than in the UK. This isn’t just down to the fact there is about five times the amount of people. It’s also to do with the fact that the Chromebook is more popular in the USA as well.

This is changing though, which I’m really happy to see. Over the last couple of years, the Chromebook has started to gain more popularity in the UK. However, it’s still more popular in the USA, so manufacturers tend to concentrate on the USA market first, which makes sense commercially.

Unfortunately, that means anyone in the UK may have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the Ideapad Chromebook Duet from Lenovo.

So let’s take a look at where you can currently buy it.

So I’ve checked the Lenovo USA site for the Ideapad today and it’s currently showing ‘coming soon’. There is also no price showing at the moment. This is a bit different to a couple of days ago when prices were available. So whether they were on sale and run out of stock already I’m unsure.

It’s showing on Best Buy for $299.00, but is currently sold out.

Well, I’ve checked out all of the online stores where you would expect it to be and there is no sign of it at the moment.

The good news is the Ideapad Duet is showing in the UK Lenovo site, but it does not currently have any availability or price showing. I’ve contacted Lenovo to try and get more information on availability in the UK, so I’ll keep you updated if I get any news.

So it appears at the moment anyone in the UK eager to get their hands on one will have to wait a while.

So it looks like we are going to have to wait a while. It has definitely been selling in the USA because I’ve seen social media posts about it. So that suggests the first batch was immediately snapped up.

I’m sure in the next month or two more will become available. I’m just hoping that will be the same in the UK as well, as I can’t wait to review this new Chrome OS tablet by Lenovo.
