The Google Pixelbook Go was announced in October 2019. A slightly different Chromebook from Google compared to what we had previously seen. Previous Pixel Chromebooks were all about moving Chrome OS to the next level. They were considered the Chromebook of choice for anyone looking for a cutting-edge laptop running Chrome OS. Instead of moving forward with the Pixelbook Go. Google decided to take everything that made a great laptop and gave us the Pixelbook Go. Although some people were disappointed by this others considered this a great move.
What makes the Pixelbook Go a great choice is that it offers the perfect Chrome OS laptop that oozes quality. A perfect choice for anyone who wants a laptop that will wow. Great design in a compact shell makes it perfect for anyone wanting a laptop to use on the move. This is helped by the magnesium used for the casing. Much lighter than aluminium, which you’d tend to see with most premium laptops.

PIXELBOOK GO DISPLAY
The Pixelbook Go display has been widely commented on as being excellent. This is understandable considering it’s a laptop made by Google. It’s a 13.3-inch display and offers full HD. The most widely used display size for a laptop is 14-inches. The smaller display is great to see because it reduces the overall size of the laptop. One of the reasons why this is a popular choice for people who need a laptop on the move.
The Full HD with IPS panel means you’ll be able to take advantage of watching Full HD movies when it’s time to unwind. The IPS panel not only provides greater viewing angles. It also means the colours on the screen are more vivid and everything looks more beautiful. It’s a touchscreen display, which means it’s a perfect laptop for using Android Apps.

CHROMEBOOK TYPE
The Pixelbook Go is a laptop only. This means it cannot be used as a tablet. There are many Chromebooks available that has the ability to be used as both a laptop and a tablet. These Chromebooks are known as Hybrid 2-in-1 devices. Although they offer the extra functionality many of these Hybrid Chromebooks are not great to use in tablet mode. The decision to keep the Pixelbook Go as a laptop only helped to keep the overall build dimensions to a minimum.
The reason a lot of Chromebooks now come with a Hybrid design is due to the introduction of Android Apps. However, it’s not necessary to have a Hybrid to use these apps. What is more important is whether the Chromebook comes with a touchscreen. The Pixelbook Go comes with a touchscreen, therefore, it will work perfectly fine with Android Apps.

AUE DATE
All Chromebooks currently come with an Automatic Update Expiration date (AUE Date). Until this date is reached your Chromebook will continue to receive essential updates to the Chrome OS operating system. After this date has expired your Chromebook will not receive future updates. The reason for this is to ensure Chrome OS does not need to consider older laptops when updating the operating system.
This is necessary to ensure Chrome OS can continue to develop in the future. If the operating system had to work for Chromebooks manufactured over eight years ago. This would stop Chrome OS being able to offer new functionality if older Chromebooks were unable to take advantage of such features.

PIXELBOOK GO CONNECTIVITY
Connectivity is important when it comes to buying a new laptop. When you think about connectivity you should be thinking about what you need now and what you might need in the future. All Laptops offer a different type of connectivity. The size of a laptop may limit the connectivity, which can be offered. An example of this is where a laptop only offers newer USB Type – C connections, but older USB ports are not available.
The Pixelbook Go does lack any older type USB connections. This is only a problem if you want to use older peripherals, which do not support USB Type C. If this is the case you would have to buy a separate adaptor to use these with the Pixelbook Go. Something else lacking from the Pixelbook Go is a Micro SD slot. This means you cannot add further storage at a later date using a Micro SD card.
