I’ve been following Chromebooks ever since I bought my first one back in 2011. They are well known for being cheap level-entry laptops, but higher priced ones are available. The higher-priced models are great because they offer better performance and display quality. If you’re after a cheap laptop to mainly surf the internet. Then you can’t really go wrong with a cheap budget Chromebook.

When you consider we are in 2021 and are now seeing inflation with so many goods. It’s remarkable that you can get your hands on a laptop for just £129.99. I’ve had a look around and you can buy the HP 11.6-inch Chromebook from many different retailers. The one with the best price at the time of writing this is from Argos. They’ve been really competitive with their prices of Chromebooks lately. Great news for anyone who wants a laptop without spending a fortune. Take a look at the HP 11 Chromebook at Argos.

Ideal for anyone, but perfect for kids

Taking a quick look at this laptop and it offers everything I’d expect to see. The casing is all plastic, which isn’t anything to worry about at this price. The great thing about plastic laptops is they are much lighter than aluminium models. Making this a great laptop if you need one you can use on your travels. At the price, it’s also ideal for the first computer for your kids. Considering most schools use Chromebooks, it’s a great choice without breaking the bank.

HP 11 Chromebook
It’s a pretty decent looking laptop

I own a budget laptop very similar to the HP 11. One thing I love about them is the battery life. Don’t get me wrong all Chromebooks have good battery life. However, the budget variety with lower-performing processors offers the best. This one promises 12 hours and 45 minutes. In a real-life situation, I’d expect to easily get 10 hours from this Chromebook. Meaning it will easily last all day without needing a charge.

What to expect in terms of performance

The great thing about Chrome OS, which is the operating system the Chromebook uses. Is that it’s extremely lightweight. This means it doesn’t need much processing power to perform well. The HP 11 will easily cope with the majority of tasks you’d do on a laptop.

Whether that is internet surfing, social media, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations or streaming movies. The HP 11 will handle all of these tasks without any issues. You don’t need to worry about it being sluggish either. As I said, Chrome OS doesn’t need super-powerful internals to carry out these tasks.

HP 11 Display

As with most budget laptops. You should not expect an amazing display. Don’t get me wrong it will be perfectly fine to use, but it will not blow you away. At the price, you can’t really expect anything else. It has a TN panel, which is the reason why some may not be happy with the display on offer. You can find out more about this by watching my video showing the difference between IPS and TN panels on the Chromebook. This video will clearly show you what I mean. I think most people buying a laptop at this price will not have much of an issue.

The HP 11 Chromebook
The HP comes with an 11.6-inch display

I’ve checked the reviews for this laptop on the Argos website. The majority of people who have bought one seem pretty happy with their purchase. I think this shows when you can buy a laptop at such a low price. You can expect to make some compromises.

I’ve never seen a Chromebook so cheap

If you’re looking for a laptop to mainly surf the internet and you don’t want to spend too much money. Then I really would consider the HP 11 Chromebook. I don’t think you’ll regret it when you consider just how cheap it is.

As far as the specs are concerned they are very similar to my Acer 311, which I use on a daily basis. I’m pretty happy with using that for typing and taking out and about with me. It’s definitely the case if you want a cheap laptop in 2021. Then the best choice is to choose a Chromebook.
